Intersil’s Gregory Williams Elected New Chairman of Semiconductor Industry Association

-LSI Logic Chairman and CEO Wilf Corrigan to serve as 2003 SIA Vice Chairman-

SAN JOSE, Calif. – November 6, 2002– The Board of Directors of the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) yesterday elected Gregory L. Williams, Executive Chairman of the Board of Intersil Corporation, a leader in high performance analog and wireless networking products, as the 2003 SIA Board Chairman and Wilfred J. Corrigan, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of LSI Logic, a leading designer and manufacturer of communications, consumer and storage semiconductors, as SIA Vice Chairman.

“In a fast-paced global marketplace, we are fortunate to have the experience and insight Greg and Wilf bring to the industry and the SIA”, stated George Scalise, SIA President, “particularly as we redouble our efforts to assure continuing technology development, increased federal funding for basic research and development in science, math and engineering, expanding world markets and international trade, and protection of intellectual property.
