At 2003, TSIA 300mm Automation Standard Task Force collaborated with ISMI to bring this international event on the latest developments of Advanced Equipment and Process Controls to the entire semiconductor industry in Taiwan.
This symposium, part of a series of such meetings held three times a year in North America, Europe, and Asia, brings together IC manufacturers and suppliers in an effort to accelerate the move toward more efficient and more intelligent manufacturing through data-driven and automated decision making.
The Symposium will review recent technical advancements in order to assure alignment with the needs of integrated circuit manufacturers, semiconductor equipment suppliers, and software, sensor, and metrology suppliers. Major AEC/APC issues and experiences are discussed in this two-day event, which includes technical tutorial and supplier exhibitions.
The symposium will also review SEMI standards and consistency with the International Technology Roadmap for Semiconductors.
The conference is held annually in Asia and hosted by the Taiwan Semiconductor Industry Association and ISSM alternatively.

TSIA has been actively driving the collaborations among its member companies in the semiconductor industry, and diligently directing cooperation throughout the entire supply and value chains across different industrial sectors, both nationally and internationally. Through its 300mm Automation Standard Task Force, TSIA collaborates with ISMI to bring this international event on the latest developments of Advanced Equipment and Process Controls to the entire semiconductor industry in Taiwan.
Together with AEC/APC-North America and AEC/APC-Europe, AEC/APC-Asia geographically completes the tripod to carry forth the guiding spirit and driving force of the AEC/APC-symposia to serve the ultimate purpose of making many better quality chips at ever lower prices and shorter cycle-times. The forever more importance associated this event is fully reflected in the number of companies and fellow workers attending this Symposium.
Being your host here in Taiwan, TSIA hopes to proudly pronounce to the world on the truly amazing manufacturing capabilities as achieved by my fellow colleagues collectively here in the Taiwan semiconductor industry, as well as to actively introduce to the local community on the innovative ideas as created by my friends coming from all over the world. With your long-standing support, we shall make this Symposium another great success.

From its inception in the early 1990's as an informal data exchange among SEMATECH member companies to a industry-wide event spanning three continents, the AEC/APC Symposium has evolved into one of SEMATECH's best known "signature" meetings, successfully aligning chipmakers, equipment suppliers, and software, sensor, and metrology suppliers in developing effective data-driven manufacturing solutions for both factory and equipment productivity improvement. Advanced Process Control techniques have now become pervasive in semiconductor manufacturing. These symposia bring together the experts from academia and semiconductor manufacturing to exchange ideas and present research and manufacturing results. The symposia typically include short courses and tutorials on a variety of topics ranging from APC for beginners to highly technical topics such as multivariate model-based control or fault detection. These symposia also include supplier exhibits and multiple networking opportunities. SEMATECH is pleased to partner with its member companies and groups such as Silicon Saxony, Taiwan Semiconductor Industry Association, ISSM, Semiconductor Portal, SEMI, and a large number of equipment, software, sensor and metrology companies to organize AEC/APC Symposia worldwide.
